Brunches & Bookstores...

The urge to be somewhere pretty is strong. It’s the getting there I’m not always up for. Luckily for me, home is pretty, too. The day is sunny with shifting light and shadow from chilly winds outside. Rest is what I need most. Rest and some great eats. The day flows on and brunch begins to call to me, hunger building.

Sacramento has many fabulous brunch choices. Favorites of mine are Orphan, Morning Fork, and Fox and Goose. I often, but not always, brunch alone. Brunching alone is quite satisfying and I intentionally make an effort to stay off my phone. Though, I do bring a book. Dine alone, but with a book, and you are never really alone.

Post brunch, the urge to browse at a local independent bookstore is strong. It's like the two go hand-in-hand, Bookstores and Brunches, Brunches and Bookstores.

My favorite local independent bookstores are Beers Books, East Village Bookstore and Time Tested Books. With brunch eats warming my belly, I take my time browsing the shelves. I always find gems to add to my book collection. Books I'm looking for, along books I didn't know I wanted, until they speak to me in the store.

There is truly nothing more satisfying than browsing a bookstore, and finding books to take home. Bookstores, and Brunches. Brunches and Bookstores. The two go hand-in-hand, and there truly is no better way to spend a restful afternoon.

Thank you for reading,

Michelle
